“He went south, so did another, and another, and followed many. They settled, they lived, not searching, nor exploring until came she who had visited the world and narrated the tales of picturesque scenery, they sat awed and flabbergasted of how much existed.”
ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) software entered the business world in the 1990s with a starting objective and focus on easing manufacturing. Then they swiftly ventured into other directions which included accounting, maintenance, HR (Human Resource) and now we see its sprawling form where it has every area covered under its identity. So, it would be erroneous to say that ERP’s didn’t have their journey, that they have no story of progress to recite, there have been little tweaks now and then, some prominent changes shaping them for what they are today. But even after so much said and done there still remains a huge window of enhancements that must take place to make them truly suffice for the businesses of the modern world.
So, without wasting any more time let’s address the elephant in the room as to why we felt the need to revisit the enterprise systems and to wave goodbye to the traditional ERPs.
Need 1. LACK OF INNOVATION
While the systems have definitely changed, there has been tremendous innovation on the functionality part but still nothing much have improved when it comes to how the user interacts with the system. It was a drab experience back then and it continues to be so till now. The systems are too complicated with too many buttons and options putting on a clumsy, cluttered mess sort of a display which not only is unattractive, unappealing but is frazzling and disappointing.
This was the first indicator and the first push that we got to change the existing system and bring forth a design that not only wins functionality wise but also in the way the user interacts with the system. The design is sleek, smooth, and attractive that doesn’t put you off but enlivens you the moment you enter the system. Moving around within the system is super easy and convenient. It also records the last eight movements so you can easily track back by just clicking on any of the eight entries on the top of the page without having to go through a regular route.
Special attention has been given on how the system looks and feels to the user. Most systems are daunting and they trick you into believing that ERP’s are tough which isn’t the case, it’s not the functionality which is tough it’s how they are made to function that is but now even that isn’t the case because S.I.M.P.L.E (Strategy, Integration, Management, Productivity, Longevity, and Economy) is designed to be simple.
Need 2. BASIC FUNCTIONALITIES
Over the years how the business functions has changed tremendously but the rate of this change is not synonymous with the rate of change of the systems used to run it. ERP is available in a deluge, there are numerous vendors ready to go live on one little nudge but do they have suffice functions to serve the requirements of today! Well, most of them don’t. While there are some known names which are running and winning this space for years there are many who are battling hard to stay up on the ground one reason being their stultifying act in certain areas. Even the big names have a poor user interface and complex functionalities, they just have too many of it.
One needs to draw a line. Well, we did. We infused our system with just the right measure of functionality that won’t overwhelm you and won’t disappoint you. It has all the required modules and necessary functions that you’ll need. But what is the right amount? How do we know? Every business is different so how can one measure the optimum requirement for everyone? Why don’t other systems suffice these requirements? How do we know they don’t?
Well, a slew of questions popping up. Stick with us they all will be answered in the points below or better you can take a free demo and get your answers there itself.
Here’s one picture of some of the modules that S.I.M.P.L.E has. There are more and can be much more and much less as well. This takes us to our next need.
NEED 3. LACKING FLEXIBILITY
Continuing the point above let’s address these questions.
What is the right amount and how do we know it?
Every Business is different so how can one measure the optimum requirement for every business?
Though we have an idea as we have seen and worked on various business models. But the honest truth is we don’t know, nobody does. What exactly is required by your business no one can tell better but you. That’s why we try to keep it as open and as moldable as possible and the result is a system that is run by you and not one which runs you.
Here, this is one phenomenon which we have witnessed quite a lot with ERP’s that instead of them becoming a part of the process they become the process. Companies have to mold themselves, shift their gears to the speed of the system which honestly should be the way around. Rigidity in the age of dynamism and change is a risky affair and if not risky is a limited one. Most systems available demand a huge change from the user part to adjust to its needs and its functionalities while they stay pegged at their original or little-tweaked version.
Next time you see a demo. See if the system is flexible enough to be made one of your own or does it require you to be its own. S.I.M.P.L.E is completely flexible, you can literally add, subtract, divide or do whatever with its functions and the best part for most things you won’t even require us you can do it on your own it’s that simple.
Need 4. MISSING SUFFICE ADDONS
There’s beauty in details and we are a firm believer of it. We believe that systems should not only be a source of data entry and basic functionalities. They should add to the process by deducting as much as possible. What?
Bemusing as it may sound it is quite a simple theory. We want enterprise systems to lower as much burden as possible and to obliterate as many processes and steps as possible. But we have noticed and you should too that with ERP’s not much have changed since their nascent years in this space. They have developed but not with this core philosophy of keeping it simple to the level maximum. The ERP systems have added functionalities over the years, they have covered areas left untouched before but they have only focused on the major plot, not the minor details that make the scene more beautiful.
With S.I.M.P.L.E we have made it our priority to add features, to view the nuances that being there won’t feel special but not being there would reduce efficiency.
In S.I.M.P.L.E there are numerous such little features like the one where you can add attachments on every single tab that you open, you can chat with your staff and fellow workers with chat option in S.I.M.P.L.E just like you do in WhatsApp, you can follow a document, event, process, or even people within the system so every time any action related to the one you follow takes place you get a notification just like in Twitter, Facebook, and other social media sites, you can change the menus, the colors on display, you can import-export data of any screen, from any screen or anywhere, you can easily search any information by using filters like in any online shopping app, you can add tags to any information again just like in social sites, you can set different language for different user it has 60+ languages, you can manually set different screen for different user purchase guy has nothing to do with human resource he shouldn’t see that screen you can do it’s very simple, he will only see purchase screen and those related to it, you can set the system in auto-backup mode so it automatically backs up all your crucial data in time intervals you decide like 5 min, 30 min etc. This will ensure that your data remains safe in case of some accidental operations by any of your workers or even you, in addition to this you can also enable or disable the recycle bin which keeps the data when deleted so you have the restore option available to you.
These were just teasers there are many little but important features that we have made sure exist in the system because they just add more value to the work we do.
Need 5. INCORRECT FOCUS
We believe in the saying that, “More than what you do, how you do it matters.” That’s again a pattern we observed most systems are designed keeping the functionality in mind not a problem in that, that’s a great approach but we believe that’s not the best approach. When making a system more than the function, the company, the process what needs to be in the mind is the user, his/her experience while using the system. That’s what we made sure with S.I.M.P.L.E, this again is a major differentiator but again with little surface level visible effects to truly experience it you have to dive deeper and you’ll unfurl the excellent service over the course of time, these are subtle effects that create a world of difference.
What happens is with ERP most companies are focusing on raising the bar with functions, on making the system more functional but less on how these functions function when they come in hand of the user. The focus is least on how (again from the 1st point) they interact with the user, on how easy they make the life of the user, on how they react to various actions and more on mere actions. That’s something we have worked on, we have focused on every single action and how it responds to you and how easy we possibly can make it we have made it and are continuously working on making it even more simpler.
Need 6. REALLY EXPENSIVE
ERP’s were earlier considered a resource for the wealthy, it had no relation to small businesses. It is now since a few years back that even small and medium players have become a prominent user of this useful resource. But still things have not turned hunky-dory for the businesses as the quality remains poor and potential remains untapped. Today running a business without any of these technological advantages can be a setback, a negative as your competitor must be using these or if not then also dealing with work stuff manually can be an onerous time-consuming task, and in days of laser speed acts spending days on futile or less productive work will only pull you down.
So, here’s the dilemma we saw many companies face. Without ERP it’s tough, with ERP it’s tough, buying ERP is tough. Nothing was there to settle this cause, ERP’s were an expensive affair they still are, only the rich can enjoy this leisure. That’s why when working on S.I.M.P.L.E we made sure that we’ll make a system that beats the standards of those enjoying top positions at a price that’s affordable to even the lower level companies so they could enjoy the same convenience that the big players have. It would give them a platform to better manage and grow their business. Less price will also benefit the big companies as this will improve the ROI and save them a lot of costs. We have plans starting at as low as 1000 Rs/user/month which is our rent option and you can also buy the system with a price tag that won’t cause a drouth in your pocket, the price depends on multiple factors and can be relaxed to suit your needs because we want to give the best service. Let’s crack a deal.
Need 7. TIME CONSUMING
An average ERP implementation takes about an year or more to implement which is a lot of time and because most of them are really difficult to use and learn. The users continue to have problems even after training and complete implementation. That’s one reason why many implementations fail.
That’s something we wanted to tackle and that’s why we have made a rapid implementation methodology which helps us implement the system at the best possible speed. The fastest we have gone so far is 3 months and we are constantly improving and bettering with time.
This speed has a lot to do with the simple User Interface of the system. It won’t take much time for you to get used to the system and use it to the maximum. Here, learn more about our implementation methodology.
Need 8. NOT MICRO-VERTICAL
Not micro-vertical, need customization and even in that has certain limitations. The systems available are general types and fall under fit for all category, which in reality does not exist as operations across the organizations vary in stature and format. They are handled differently so how can one system that’s not a specific tool for your industry type will serve you. That’s why most systems require maximum customizations which increase the cost and complexity of the project.
This again is a major issue which surrounds most ERP’s but we have resolved it with S.I.M.P.L.E. Years of experience in this domain have caused us to format a design that is micro-vertical meaning specific for specific industries. We have a multitude of variants in S.I.M.P.L.E., it is available for Process manufacturing which is further bifurcated in various industries, Discrete manufacturing which again includes a separate set of industries and we also have it for Small Business, Hospitality Industry, NGO, Healthcare, Education, Construction and Real-Estate, Retail, and many more.
This ensures that you get the best possible solution that is meant to be yours with as little or no customizations required because it will be based on the working of your specific business type. Take a free demo and be amazed at how wonderful these systems can be.
Now, let’s answer the remaining questions from Need 2
Why don’t other system suffice these requirements? How do we know they don’t?
Before starting Dexciss our founder Apoorv Soral worked in an ERP company for 7 years doing implementations all over the world. The systems at hand were SAP B1, MS Dynamics Great Plains, Proprietary Food & Pharma ERP, and BatchMaster ERP. After doing 22 successful implementations, interacting with so many business owners worldwide, he felt this need to polish the systems, that there was a conspicuous blank spot ready to be filled.
What was missing in those systems?
A.) One of the key ingredients they all are missing is The Usability. They’ll put you in a spot where you will be made to take a tough decision. Either go with a system that cannot suffice your business needs and is not flexible, but is easy to use, or buy a quality product that is flexible and helps you get control over your business but very unfriendly to use. In either case, you lose. Also, the cost of operation rises because the resources required to run a system this complicated, are not always affordable.
B.) Flexibility is the key to every business. Just like your business, the Enterprise Systems need to be flexible to allow room for growth and gain control over the business. Once, these systems have been configured in a certain way, there are only a few changes that you can do (or afford). They lack modularity and you end up being stuck in a system that was only as good as the person who implemented it. S.I.M.P.L.E. gives you the room you need and flexibility you urge for. With an ever changing business needs and workflows, SIMPLE is configurable, reconfigurable and reconfigurable, yet again!
C.) Functionality – Even if you go with the aces’ of business, there comes a time when you are questioned with an either-or choice. We have audited many similar large sized ERPs, and have realized that they all miss one or the other crucial functionalities.
And there was more, the journey didn’t stop there it started. After leaving that job he and his friend our second CEO Siddharth Jain started studying other enterprise systems to find the missing link or to find something that resonated with their vision, in the process they studied more than 20 ERPs and only after that started their quest for S.I.M.P.L.E. That’s how we know that other systems don’t suffice the requirements for modern day businesses because we have evaluated most of them and searched for the missing link.
But why go through the hassle when searching for enterprise systems to simplify the process and ending up with even more complexity?. S.I.M.P.L.E. makes business life a lot easier and it’s been trusted by our many super customers worldwide. We are expanding at a rapid rate the system is resonating with everyone, everywhere. We have operations running in US, South Africa, India, Sri Lanka, and are looking to expand in various other parts of the world as well. Be a part of our family and be a super business person with supreme powers that only come with simplicity. You can also be our channel partner and take the system to even more people making their business life simpler and better.
